One Mr Austin Okwor Reported to be part of a team investigating corruption within the judiciary. He is being treated in hospital for his wounds. The attack happened in Port Harcourt on Saturday night, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said. Last year several judges were arrested on suspicion of corruption in a nationwide sting operation. President Muhammadu Buhari has prioritised the fight against corruption but critics say his administration has targeted only his political rivals. Mr Okwor was surrounded by a gang who opened fire on him, Nigeria Bulletin reports. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission spokesman Wilson Uwujaren said Mr Okwor had received threatening text messages in recent months. "This incident underlines the hazards which operatives of the commission are daily exposed to in the discharge of their duties," Mr Uwujaren said in a statement. In April President Buhari's office ordered an investigation after the head of the national intell...

The idle craft, Nigeria's leaking resources!

Image
The recent report by the BBC on the presidential aircraft in London. The idle presidential aircraft in London consumes 4000 pounds everyday for parking lot and its idleness allegedly. By 12am this morning,it would be 50 days it has stayed idle and if you multiply that by N400 per pounds for 50days it will amount to N80,000,000.00 doing nothing but waiting for the president to get well. This is a lot of money to be wasting on at this time, when the country is at a start of shortage in foreign exchange. The question are? is  Nigeria too rich to be wasting at these time? Where is the presidency losing it? How long will the aircraft remaking doing nothing? What could have been done with that huge amount of money? As always we love your comments Let's hear what you think about these!

Cultism really a positive?

NO fewer than 10 persons have been killed within the last three days in Akure, the Ondo State capital, with others injured, as rival cult groups do battle over supremacy. Meanwhile, the Police said over 20 suspects have been arrested in connection with this crimes in the metropolis, among those arrested are convicts , Omololu James, 19; Ojo Odunayo, 16, and Wale Ayemowa, 18, discharged from prisons in Lagos State after serving their sentences and Bidemi Victor 18, who served his jail sentence in Olokuta in Akure Now its quite visible from the age of the suspects that they are just youths, the fact that most if them have already been convicted for one crime or the other shows how quick these youth have gone down the road of crime Some say its the confraternities they belong to that leads them on these journey of crime, these leaves one thinking what was the purpose of these youths joining these groups? If it where to gain something has that been achieved, as the sacrifice seems...

Is Hausa Nigeria's official language?

Image
The celebration yesterday came to an uprising lift with the release of the audio message from president of the Federal Republican of Nigeria. Congratulating the masses and also being a means to debunk speculations that the president was suffering from memory loss and could no longer speak properly. However these has been welcomed by many as a welcome development, giving the masses the believe the president recuperating well but however some fractions such as some PDP affiliates have rebuked these move by the president. Stating Nigeria is a multilingual country and the president shouldn't speak to the country in Hausa. The question is Do you think the audio message was a welcome development? Do you think the president should have spoken a English as Hausa is not the official language of Nigeria? Do you feel the PDP affiliates are only raising unnecessary dust? As always we love your comments Let your voice be heard!!!

Evans only a little fish in the sea. who are the whales?

It all began for Evan in 2000 It all started in the year 2000 when I fled my home town in Opi, Nsukka Local Government of Enugu State to Lagos after stabbing my fiancĂ©e when she decided not to marry me. The first job I got in Lagos was at Jonbulls Ikoyi as driver to the CEO. One day we were going to his office and my boss said he wanted to visit a friend. The moment he went in, I took the sum N350,000 he had in the car and ran away to Ghana. I returned to Lagos in 2008, used same method, got a new job as a driver at the home of the first family I kidnapped their daughter. I realised they are very rich and loved their daughter so much. I took her to Ghana from where I demanded a ransom of only N20million. But the little girl’s father opted to pay N22 million. I released the girl in Ghana. He claim he I never killed any of my victims. And he was a giver as he always spent on his family and even the poor. He told the police he I also spent over N2m on orphanages and local pri...

Change a gradual process or just another scam by our politicians?

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari promised to change Nigeria. At the time, his supporters had reeled out a lot of positives which were to be achieved in the first year. His opponents, however, derided him for not telling Nigerians the type of change he meant, whether positive or negative. Nigerians would recall that security, corruption and job creation were the three main issues on which Buhari premised his campaigns. While he may have tried in the area of security, a lot still needs to be done in revamping the economy as well as creating jobs. Some of the issues President Buhari had to tackle in an attempt to bring these craved change to Nigerians Insurgency  President Buhari fulfilled the promise made during his inaugural speech that the insurgency of Boko Haram is the most immediate problem which security forces cannot solve with the nation’s command and control centre based in Abuja. The government immediately relocated the command centre to Maiduguri and changed the servic...

It was a gift! Is it still one?

Just like a popular saying water is life!   The  uses of water in our homes are endless. Water is used for in homes for almost everything we do at home ranging from Drinking, cooking, washing, decoration etc. The industrial uses and commercial uses are also a handfull, almost every process in man's  daily activities requires the use of water, either directly or indirectly. It is also quite affordable in comparance to other substitutes,it is relatively free. One would think that due to its immeasurable importance's man would always strive to protect its continues supply as water maybe a substitute to a lot of things but water has no substitute. The activities of man has been proved to be hamparing with the flow of these very precious substance. The activities of man maybe  argued in favor of, saying it doesn't affect the Quantity of water available, these maybe  true but when the quality is being reduced the supply of quality water for the use of...
