It was a gift! Is it still one?

Just like a popular saying water is life!
The  uses of water in our homes are endless.
Water is used for in homes for almost everything we do at home ranging from Drinking, cooking, washing, decoration etc.

The industrial uses and commercial uses are also a handfull, almost every process in man's  daily activities requires the use of water, either directly or indirectly. It is also quite affordable in comparance to other substitutes,it is relatively free.
One would think that due to its immeasurable importance's man would always strive to protect its continues supply as water maybe a substitute to a lot of things but water has no substitute. The activities of man has been proved to be hamparing with the flow of these very precious substance. The activities of man maybe  argued in favor of, saying it doesn't affect the Quantity of water available, these maybe  true but when the quality is being reduced the supply of quality water for the use of man in homes etc, is being disrupted. Forcing the poor masses to make do with these low quality water, these leads to various adverse effects such illness and so on.

Taking a look at the amount illnesses caused by water contamination. It shows steady growth daily. These illnesses ranges from typhoid, redness of the eye, skin infections, brain damages, heavy metal poisoning and so on, all being cause by the introduction of harmful substances into the water such as lead, arsenic, heavy metals and so on.

Looking at all these substances that causes most of these unpleasant illnesses they are mostly by-products of industries, that is the tricky part how funny it looks right? man being man's very own enemy. These substances are most times disposed and through these they get in contact with the water bodies or water source.
Therefore should the lucrative activities of these industries be stopped? Yes and No

No cause they are of good use to man and man needs them to keep running so as to keep providing services for people making life more pleasant.

Yes these indiscriminate dumping of these wastes should be stopped, the waste could be dispose properly, these has been proved by researchs and in develop countries. These may look capital intensive but in the long run is quite affordable to run and not to forget it would save guard the life's of the people living around.
If producing your products kills the people I wonder who will be the customers? These companies should invest in revamping the water quality level, rather than on eye serviced jingles and promos claimed to be aimed at giving back to the people.

I know it looks like a job the government is supposed to handle right? But if we sit around waiting for things to be done the tally will keep rising!
The process begins with you where are you sitting that sewage pit?
Where are you disposing those chemicals?
How healthy is the water you are drinking?
Do you believe Nigeria will ever have portable water for the poor masses? Or is it a wild dream? Or will it take a very long time to accomplish?
